Garfield, Odie, Jon. Sure, most people know those names from the popular Garfield comics in the paper every Sunday. But what about Orson, Wade, Sheldon? If you’re like me, all these characters bring up golden memories of Saturday mornings long ago, watching Garfield and some of mastermind Jim Davis’ lesser-known creations work their ways into and out of all sorts of scrapes, mishaps, and zany capers. Often as witty as the comics from which it’s derived, but with an added zest of adventure, the cartoon series Garfield and Friends was a part of weekend life for many of us in the late ‘80’s/early ‘90’s.
