A Cinderella Story

Everyone has grown up knowing the fabulous tale of Cinderella. A story that was told in true simplicity but has always carried great value. It is a story about rising above great adversity as well as staying true to who you are. However, this summer, A Cinderella Story has a whole other level: a redundant level.
Everyone, by now, should have some sense of what A Cinderella Story is about. This remake, no matter how much it promises to add to the original story, does nothing more than follow the original Cinderella formula, which is:
1 Princess + 1 Wicked Stepmother + 2 Evil Stepsisters + 1 Fairy Godmother + 1 Prince Charming = Everyone Living Happily Ever After…
The only new addition to this story is the introduction of new technology, i.e. cell phones, instant messaging, and emails.
From the moment you sit down and hear Hillary Duff’s familiar voice narrate her character’s tragic story, you just know that you’ve heard this one before. Sam Montgomery (Hillary Duff) had the perfect life. She had a father who loved her and owned the greatest diner in all of San Fernando Valley, as well as a group of friends who looked out for her. Everything was perfect. Unfortunately, however, her entire life rapidly changes when her father meets the Queen of Narcasim, Fiona (Jennifer Coolidge). They fall in love, get married, and Sam soon finds herself living with a new bossy stepmother and two brand new stepsisters.
Can you guess what’s going to happen next???
During an unexpected earthquake, Sam’s father is killed which I know is kind of harsh, but it of course sets up the rest of the movie. Sam now finds herself catering to Fiona and her stepsisters since her father, conveniently, did not have a will. And, of course, Fiona and her stepsisters do not make Sam’s life easy. So, it was only natural for her to find comfort in a cyber-stranger whom she has been secretly emailing and text messaging during her free time. But when her anonymous cyber soul mate turns out to be her high-school’s uber –popular quarterback, Austin Ames (Chad Michael Murray), Sam makes a mad dash to reality, leaving her cell phone behind just before the clock strikes midnight.
I know, I know, you didn’t see that one coming. Oh wait, you did? Well, then there’s no need to tell you that Austin then finds himself searching for his “Cinderella.” But who could this girl be? Could see be the lonely diner girl who has been under his nose the entire time? Could it?
With the amazing success of his hit
