A Clockwork Orange
Starring:
Randy Falcon, Gregory Konow, David Bartlett, Mike Roche, David Macniven, Katherine Boynton, ...
Genre: Theatre

stop here because I don’t want to give the rest of it away. This production of A Clockwork Orange will captivate your mind and your soul. It’ll take you into a world of a boy, who is very disturbed, and will take you on an emotional ride where one minute you find yourself hating Alex and the next, empathizing with him.

Joe Tantalo directs this wonderful cast in a production everyone must see. Joe’s clever directing style compliments Anthony Bugess’s work very well. Andrew Recinos sound design and Maruti Evans lighting design will blow you away. Andrew Recinos choice of music and sound works beautifully with the actions of the characters making everything that goes on seem like a beautiful dance. Because of the small space there are no sets. Maruti Evans’ lighting design does the job of setting up the scenes, without the use of sets, wonderfully.

The cast is headed by Randy Falcon, Alex, who is breathtaking. Randy has completely embodied the character of Alex and does an amazing job bringing in the audience into his experience. His use of the NADSAT language was flawless and made it sound very Shakespearian. His performance will move you and disturb you, in a good way. The rest of the cast is equally strong and feed into this emotional journey one goes through when seeing Clockwork. A Clockwork Orange couldn’t have happened without a brilliant cast. Their high energy throughout the show is amazing. I also think it’s important to add that this production was put up in about a week. Originally Joe Tantalo was going to direct George Orwell’s 1984 but due to ownership issues it was unable to be done. I have to give the cast a big round of applause for putting this show together as well as they did. I know it’s not easy and I know it takes a lot of work. I have to be honest I never would have thought that the cast had only a week of rehearsals. The show seemed really polished, as though they had been rehearsing for several weeks.

This production ends the 27th of February. Go and see A Clockwork Orange and experience the emotional rollercoaster people are talking about. I highly recommend this show to anyone who has read the book or scene the movie.
