think about.
Just a few weeks ago in my Drag Me to Hell review, I said, “For the insane fans of the Evil Dead franchise, this will only hold you over until something really impressive comes out.” For everyone that doesn’t mind reading subtitles for ninety minutes, here is exactly what you have been waiting for. It has everything a dark comedy-horror really needs and does it in a way that keeps it from seeming overdone. People who aren’t big fans of the scary movies might not get it but to be very blunt, it wasn’t made with you in mind. It is an esoteric piece with horror fanatics in mind. It could also cater to pre-teen boys, but that is beside the point. Just to give fans a more specific feeling about this movie, it is better than Evil Dead 1 and Army of Darkness but not nearly as good as Evil Dead 2. Since Evil Dead 2 is the quintessential movie of its kind that shouldn’t come as too much of an insult.
Movie Grade: A-
