It's still only a rumor, but it looks like things are shaping up nicely for a reboot of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan franchise.

First came the news that Ryan Gosling was stepping into the shoes that Harrison Ford and Ben Affleck once filled (in Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger, and The Sum of All Fears), and now the latest rumor is that Fernando Meirelles (City of God, The Constant Gardener) will direct.

At this point, the flick is being called By Any Means Necessary. There has yet to be any kind of official announcement, but let's hope it turns out to be true - Gosling is usually terrific and City of God is one of my all-time favorite movies.
