a paying audience to see a superhero movie called Ant-Man. While no acting rumors have surfaced, the guy behind the project is Edgar Wright, director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. No release date has been announced.
To recap, the schedule now includes no 2009 films, Thor and Iron Man 2 in summer 2010, and Captain America and The Avengers in 2011. However, given that Ant-Man is a question mark and Favreau has publicly said he'd rather wait until 2011 for Iron Man 2, a more logical approach might be to hold Avengers off until 2012, which would give each property a bit more breathing room and might allow Ant Man to sneak into a 2010 release. At this point, it's conjecture, but for fans of Marvel superheroes, it's conjecture that's a lot of fun. ❏
