It's a constant struggle bwteen producers and the MPAA. Cutting down the content of their movies to change from an R to a more profit-friendly PG-13 rating. It's a constant struggle for horror movies but for big-budget summer action movies based on cartoons?
According to Shia LaBeouf it's exactly what has been happening with his new movie, the highly anticipated Transformers. Producer Steven Spielberg has been battling with the MPAA ever since they landed the movie with the R rating.
"Spielberg fought back and got the PG-13," the Disturbia star tells, "It's just because of the intensity. There are not a lot of breathers. It's like whoosh!
"We got an R rating because of the tension," LaBeouf added, "Not because of the curse words or nudity, but for sheer intensity. It's aneurysm-inducing."
The film also stars Jon Voight and Josh Duhamel and you can check out Josh talking about the movie HERE. Transformers is set for release on July 4th. |
