In-demand directors D.J. Caruso and Len Wiseman are rumored to be up for directing duties on the X-Men spin-off movie Wolverine.
The film, obviously, will focus on Hugh Jackman's character and is said to be set some years in the past. Screenwriter David Benioff (25th Hour, Troy) has already written the script.
Caruso just directed the surprise hit Disturbia, while Wiseman is the man behind the upcoming Live Free or Die Hard.
As JoBlo.com notes, neither director is a "risky" choice, but both seem like they would get the job done, and the word around town is that the script is solid. With some luck, this might be able to wash the bitter taste from our mouths left by X-Men: The Last Stand.
(By the way, Kate Beckinsale (above) is in no way attached to this film. The picture becomes slightly less gratuitous, however, when you know that Wiseman is married to her.) |
