Ever since the first X-Files movie came out in 1998, there have been persistent rumors - seemingly all of them propagated by a hopeful David Duchovny - that a sequel is in the works. Most recently, in 2005 he was quoted as saying at the Critic's Choice Awards that he hoped to start shooting by early 2006.
Well now, according to IESB.net, Duchovny is saying that he was in "final negotiations" for an X-Files sequel that would be ironed out by this week.
Will this result in yet another dead end or something actually happening? Duchovny's also quoted as saying that the plot would be a stand-alone thriller with Mulder and Scully, not related to the ongoing alien conspiracy that took up the first movie and much of the television series. |
